Are YOU ready to show your Girl Scout Spirit?
Girl Scout Week 2013 is almost here and Girl Scouts – NC Coastal Pines Council has some amazing activities lined up for girl and adult members. This year our Girl Scout Week theme is: Why It’s Awesome To Be a Girl Scout. There are so many reasons it’s hard to know where to start!
This year the Council has created a Girl Scout Spirit Week schedule with activities and events that help celebrate everything that is awesome about Girl Scouting! Participating is easy and is the perfect way to bond with your girl, troop and Council.
The Girl Scout Spirit Week schedule is as follows:
Monday, March 11 – Girl Scout Promise
Today, every Girl Scout takes a moment to remember why she is part of such an important organization. Recite the Girl Scout Promise as an individual, with a parent /daughter or with your troop to celebrate!
Submit photos of reciting the Girl Scout Promise to social@nccoastalpines.org to be featured on our website and social media accounts!
Tuesday, March 12 – Girl Scout Birthday
Today mark’s our 101st birthday —let’s join together to celebrate. The Council invites all members to the NC State Legislature in downtown Raleigh to receive the Governor’s Proclamation and to enjoy a Milk and Girl Scout Cookies Reception. For those who cannot attend the reception, the Council will be offering up other celebration suggestions via our social media channels including Facebook and Twitter.
The Council will be recognized by both assembly sessions around 2pm, so we suggest visitors arrive around 1:45pm at the latest. The Milk and Cookies Reception will run from 2:30pm-4:30pm at the 1,000 Court of the Legislative Building in Raleigh.
Wednesday, March 13 – Letters to the Military Troops
With such strong emphasis on community service as part of Girl Scouting, today girls can submit Letters to the Military Troops that will be included as part of the Council’s Operation Cookie Drop delivery. Girls can write letters, draw pictures or submit photos to send to the military troops. All three Council Shop locations will be collecting these messages through March 18th.
Thursday, March 14 – Girl Scouts Spirit Day
Get people talking about Girl Scouts! Today, girls and adults should wear their uniforms or Girl Scout clothing to get people talking about the organization. Show off all your patches or badges or wear one of the Shop’s new fun Girl Scouts t-shirts! Submit your photos on our Facebook wall or tweet them mentioning @GirlScoutsNCCP.
Friday, March 15 – It’s Awesome to Be a Girl Scout
Today, tell us why it’s awesome to be a Girl Scout! The Council staff has a surprise for all its members that will be unveiled Friday morning on our Facebook Page (so be sure to become a fan so you don’t miss it!). The Council will also be asking members to comment on our Facebook posts about why YOU think it’s awesome to be a Girl Scout!
Let’s make Girl Scout Week 2013 the best spirit week of them all!
