April is Month of the Military Child and May is Military Appreciation Month, and we can’t wait to celebrate all of our incredible military families! Girl Scouts honors the sacrifices made by military families worldwide, and we are so grateful for their service to our country… whether it is a troop leader serving or a Girl Scout lending a parent to service! At Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines, our military families make up such an incredible part of our council, and we are very lucky to have them!

Military families that relocate often will always find fast and lasting friendships with Girl Scouts. We are so proud to offer military-connected girls with a way to make lifelong friends no matter where they go! Check out what these military parents have said about their time with Girl Scouts!

To celebrate, we are holding a contest during April and May for our Girl Scouts from military families. They can share with us why they are proud to be a military child, what makes them special, or they can just tell us about their experience. This can be done by submitting a short video or by sharing a photo and writing a few sentences. On June 1st, we will be selecting two winners at random for a $50 council gift card. We’re honoring each girl that participates with a special FREE patch designed to show you’re a part of a global community of military-connected Girl Scouts!

All Girl Scouts can show their appreciation for our military by writing a letter or story or drawing a picture to be sent to military troops with our Operation Cookie Drop donations! Girl Scouts can drop off or send letters to our Raleigh Service Center by April 23, 2021 to be included.
