Happy birthday, Girl Scouts! This year marks 107 years of building girls of courage, confidence, and character that make the world a better place. Girl Scout Week will take place from Sunday, March 10th through Saturday, March 16th as a way for girls to share their Girl Scout pride and unleash their inner G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader).
Whether you love taking action through service projects, discovering new things in STEM, or exploring the great outdoors on a camping trip (or all of the above!), at Girl Scouts, there is something for every G.I.R.L., and we cannot wait to celebrate the largest girl-led movement in the world!
Get involved with Girl Scout Week by trying the activities below either individually or with your troop. Post pictures or comment on our council Facebook page for the chance to win some sweet prizes!
March 11- Monday- Every girl is a Go-getter
A Go-getter is bold, honest, and determined to succeed. Goal-oriented and ambitious, she’s also a life-long learner who believes no challenge is too difficult.
Make a Difference Monday: Unleash your inner Go-getter by taking action to make the world a better place.
March 12- Tuesday – Girl Scout Birthday
March 12 is also the Girl Scout Birthday! On this day in 1912, Juliette “Daisy” Gordon Low assembled a group of eighteen girls from Savannah, Georgia for the first ever Girl Scout meeting.
Celebrate the Girl Scout Birthday: Host a birthday party with your troop in honor of 107 years strong!
March 13 – Wednesday – Every girl is an Innovator
Thinking outside the box is an Innovator’s specialty, so she’s always looking for a creative way to take action. She definitely knows how to get things done.
Invention Ideas: Channel your creative thinking skills to come up with a cool new STEM invention to make the world a better place.
March 14- Thursday- Every girl is a Risk-taker
Courageous and strong, a Risk-Taker’s keen to try new things and to embrace the unfamiliar. She’s ready to step up and break the mold if that’s what it takes.
Courageous Moments: Take on a challenge, try a new activity, or face a fear!
March 15- Friday- Every girl is a Leader
A Leader is confident, responsible, and committed to changing the world for the better—and she’s happiest when others join her in taking the lead!
Letters for Troops: At Girl Scouts, we’re all about leaders celebrating leaders – and troops celebrating troops! Write a letter or draw a picture to be delivered to military personnel with Operation Cookie Drop!
