Girl Scouts love to get outdoors—and there is no better way to do so than Girl Scout summer camp! Our girls have had a blast this summer at our three resident camps, Camp Mary Atkinson (Johnston County), Camp Graham (Vance County), and Camp Hardee (Beaufort County). Girls camped like a G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader) with fun activities like sailing, horseback riding, hiking, and lots of singing, of course! For girls wanting to stay close to home, day camps across our council brought the outdoor experiences to them! This summer there was something in the great outdoors for every G.I.R.L., and our resident and day camps provided girls with memories to last a lifetime!
According to the Girl Scout Research Institute (GSRI), 71% of girls say that they tried a new thing outdoors because of Girl Scouts… and girls said that camp was their most memorable outdoor experience of all! See below for some of our favorite moments from camp this year.
Camp Mary Atkinson
At Camp Mary Atkinson, the fun never ends! From challenging ourselves by climbing the Alpine Tower, to embarking on a llama trek, there are so many new things to try in the great outdoors! We had tons of fun with arts and crafts (while staying hydrated, of course!), horseback riding, and one of our favorite camp traditions of having a campfire!
Camp Graham
We love being goofy and making new friends at Camp Graham! Some of our best times happen splashing around in the lake, where we also get to learn how to fish! With themed weeks like superhero week, we get to unleash our inner innovator by creating our own special costumes and striking our best hero poses.
Camp Hardee
At Camp Hardee, we are all one big happy family! Girls build special bonds with their fellow campers with activities like arts and crafts and games galore. Like Camp Graham, we love to play dress up at Camp Hardee with awesome themes like Pirate Week! Kayaking, sailing, and other water activities are even more fun with a pirate hat on!
Girl Scout Day Camp
At Girl Scouts, the only thing we love more than exploring the outdoors is helping others! At our Girl Scout Day Camp in Apex, the girls worked together all week to collect 325 pairs of flip flops to donate to the Carying Place for those in need! The girls loved helping community members in need in addition to their other camp activities.

I love Camp Graham so much I feel like it is my second home and I am in the picture at Camp Graham fishing.
