Cash Prizes, Weekly Drawings, and Free Patches, Oh My! Why Girl Scouts Should Participate In Early Bird Registration!

By Samantha Herring, Communications Intern

Girl Scouts Early Bird RegistrationWouldn’t you love not having to worry about registering your girls and parents in the fall while you are coordinating all of your start-up activities? Taking a few minutes now to complete registration of your girls and adults means one less thing to do during the flurry of back-to-school activities and the planning your troop will be doing for an action packed fall. If that’s not enough to motivate you, how about some cold, hard cash? For qualified troops who participate in Early Bird Registration, there are weekly drawings till the end of June and then a final, grand-prize drawing for $500 on June 30th. And oh, the things your troop could do with $500! Once you register, your troop is eligible for all remaining drawings. So if you haven’t completed your troop registrations yet, there is still time—and girl is it worth it!

But Wait, There’s More!

Even if you don’t win one of the drawings, your troop will automatically earn a $15 Early Bird gift card that you can use in the council shop or for council activities. You might use it for badges the girls earn or to help pay for a troop leader’s First Aid or Overnight Camping training.  It’s a win-win opportunity.

Girls Will Earn Discounts

Girls who are registered by June 30th will get a 15% discount on any new 2014 resident camp registration or any Council event through May 31, 2015.

Help Your Area Win Cash

Based on the number of girls and adults registered for the new Girl Scouting year, your Area can win cash too: $200 if 30% of registrations are completed by June 30, $400 if 50% are completed, and $500 if 65% are completed. Imagine the smile on your Area director’s face!

Get the official Early Bird Registration details on the Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines website.
