Volunteer Month Shout-Outs

We have had a blast celebrating all of our incredible volunteers throughout April for Volunteer Appreciation Month! Our volunteers are the heart and soul of Girl Scouting, and we are so grateful for all that they do. From giving girls a space to test their ideas and express their feelings about the world, to finding ways to strengthen friendships when troops can’t meet in person… our volunteers serve as champions for girls and make our Mission possible. Because of them, we have community. Because of them, we have resilience. Because of them, we have Girl Scouts!

Still looking for ways to celebrate and thank your volunteers? We’ve got you covered! Check out our Volunteer Appreciation page for thank you card templates, special discount codes that you can use on a gift from our online Girl Scout shop, and project ideas to surprise them with! You can also recognize them through our Encore! Peer Appreciation form, which enters them in to win some cool prizes.

Check out what our Media Girlz had to say about their Girl Scout volunteers below!

Jamey H., Girl Scout Cadette

“I would like to give a shout-out for my appreciation for Mrs. Deborah Brady. Mrs. Deborah is always up to the task even when she retired from Girl Scouts she is still helping me through Girl Scouts. When I was going to get my Silver Award I thought of no one better than Mrs. Deborah. She is always helpful to Girl Scouts especially during cookie season. Thank you for everything you do for Girl Scouts!”

Alannah M., Girl Scout Senior

In this video, Alannah tells us why she is thankful for her troop leader, Elizabeth!

Morgan P., Girl Scout Cadette

“For Volunteer Appreciation Month my shout out goes to my mom Temika. When I was a Junior my troop leader was diagnosed with cancer, so mom volunteered to be the troop leader, and during her time volunteering she made sure all of the girls scouts were having fun and still being educated on important topics that we were learning about at the time.”

Sarah Cate, Girl Scout Cadette

In this video, Sarah Cate shares why she appreciates her troop leader!

Vestalyn, Girl Scout Junior

“My mom is one of our troop leaders and I love having her be a Girl Scout with me! We’re all sisters in Girl Scouts so it’s like she’s my mom AND my big sister. 😆 We have a lot of fun doing crafts, selling cookies, and planning our Girl Scout outings. She lets me help plan the meetings, which is really cool.”
