Every year, we recognize volunteers and organizations who go above and beyond through our council awards and recognitions. Theses awards honor our volunteers across the 41 counties in our council footprint for their outstanding service and contributions to our council, girls, and the entire Girl Scout Movement. These volunteers, along with so many others, serve as the mentors and role models needed to build girls of courage confidence and character.
This year, we kicked off Volunteer Appreciation Month on April 1 with our first ever Virtual Awards and Recognitions Event on Facebook Live. While we missed seeing our incredible volunteers in-person at our Annual Meeting Awards and Recognitions Luncheon as we usually do, we were excited to showcase them and their efforts virtually. Check out the recording if you missed it!
Nominations may be submitted by a volunteer’s peers, service unit team members, council staff, and even the girls themselves! The Adult Recognitions Task Group reviews all nominations and endorsements and selects each year’s award recipients from among the nominations received. When volunteers support girls on their quest to discover their passions and become their best selves, they plant hope for the future, and our award exemplify this.
