Give Back to Your Girl Scout Sisters on Giving Tuesday

This really is a beautiful time of year. It’s not just because of the lights and the decorations, wonderful as those are. What is truly beautiful about the holiday season is that it’s the one time of year that our whole society prioritizes other people. For most of the year, we are busy. There is so much on our to-do lists that we get bogged down with what’s right in front of us.

Suddenly, the holidays approach. We start to look around us to see how we can spread joy to others and, bit by bit, our circle of focus gets bigger. What can I get for my kids, my parents, my siblings that would put a smile on their faces? What about my friends, coworkers? Why don’t I volunteer at the soup kitchen or donate to that awesome charity? No wonder it’s called the “season of giving.”

Girl Scouts Give was designed to instill and celebrate that spirit of generosity in our Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts Give is a fundraising campaign and patch program that teaches girls about philanthropy and how they can use their time, talent, and treasure to help their Girl Scout sisters.

#GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement where people from all over the world come together to make a change by giving donations of time and money to causes they care about. It happens every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (which happens to be tomorrow). During this season of giving, we’re bringing the two together to showcase all the awesome ways our Girl Scouts give back and support each other.

Tomorrow only, on December 1, your girl could win some awesome Girl Scouts gear by showing off how she gives back to her fellow Girl Scouts. To enter:

  1. Complete a square on the Girl Scouts Give Bingo Card. Do as many as you want!
  2. Share a picture of what you did on social media with #GirlScoutsGivingTuesday. You can share publicly or on a private Girl Scouts group.
  3. Email your submission to

You’ll get one entry for every bingo square you complete. Girls can complete tasks with their troops but submissions are for individual girls. Every girl in a troop can enter for completing the same bingo square. Email with questions. The winner will be announced on December 2.

Girl Scouts, thanks for all you do in this and every season to give back. Good luck!
