5 Things for Girl Scouts to Look Forward to in 2020

A new year brings a variety of new opportunities for Girl Scouts to challenge themselves and chase their passions. Girl Scouts can accomplish anything they set their minds to in a safe and supportive all-girl environment, and we know that Girl Scouts will discover their potential and develop many new skills in 2020! Check out the 5 things we are most excited for this year below.


1.Council Activities

Our council has so many awesome events coming up in 2020! From events like World Thinking Day in March where Girl Scouts will gather together to complete a project with a global impact to Family STEM Night in January where Girl Scouts and their families can learn coding basics, there is something for every Girl Scout!

2. Summer Camp

Ready, set, camp! Our 2020 Summer Fun Guide is out now and we can’t wait for all of the outdoor fun to come. Camp Mary Atkinson, Camp Graham, and Camp Hardee all have awesome sessions for girls entering grades 2-12, and not to mention all of the awesome local day camps for Girl Scouts of all ages! Resident camp registration opens February 3rd and day camp registration opens March 2nd.

3. Centennial of Suffrage

2020 will mark the 100th anniversary of the passage of the nineteenth Amendment which gave women the right to vote in the United States. GSUSA is partnering with the Women’s Vote Centennial Initiative to share content and increase excitement around this historic anniversary with events and initiatives for Girl Scouts to participate in. 4. The Girl Scout Cookie Program 

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is almost here! Girl Scouts will have endless opportunities to build their confidence throughout the sale and develop financial literacy. The 2020  Girl Scout Cookie Program will run January 11- March 1. Check out everything you need to know in our CookieGram!

5. G.I.R.L. 2020

On October 23–25, 2020, thousands of girls and their supporters from around the world will come together for G.I.R.L. 2020  in Orlando, Florida. Hosted by GSUSA, the mega event will provide attendees with unforgettable experiences as they gain inspiration, tools to empower themselves, and the know-how to lead change in their communities—connecting with some of the most influential women in the world along the way.
