The 2020 Girl Scout Cookie Program is getting close, Girl Scouts, and we hope you are excited! The Girl Scout Cookie Program is all about setting goals for yourself and your troop, building your business savvy, and stepping outside your comfort zone by trying new things. Whether it’s selling Girl Scout Cookies to help pay for summer camp, spending more quality time with your troop members through booth sales, or collecting enough donations to give 10 boxes of cookies to Operation Cookie Drop- Girl Scouts set a variety of goals for themselves for cookie season and the sky is the limit for every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader).

- What was your goal for yourself during the 2019 Cookie Program and how did you meet your goal?
“I knew that I was going to be very busy with other things I had going on so I set my goal for 3000 boxes. I worked as hard as I could and even though I was busy I was able to exceed my goal. I just did my very best throughout the entire sale.”
2. What is your advice for girls participating in the Cookie Program?
“I think the best thing that girls can do to meet their goals is to stick with it. The sale lasts 6 weeks and some weeks won’t be as good as others, but don’t get discouraged. Continue to do your best and you can be proud of yourself.”
3. Why should people buy Girl Scout Cookies?
“Cookie sales are so important to Girl Scouts. I tell all my customers that not only does selling cookies help my troop to do fun things like going on trips or have learning experiences together (our troop took 12 weeks of a Sign Language Class with our cookie money) but cookie sales also help keep our camps open and affordable for all Girl Scouts! We are very lucky to have so many awesome camps in our council. I’d sell cookies to help pay for those camps even if I didn’t earn any prizes.”

- What was your goal for yourself during the 2019 Cookie Program and how did you meet your goal?
“My goal was 3,500 cookies. I met my goal and beyond by selling mostly door to door to my wonderful neighbors, encouraging Operation Cookie Drop, and always having a smile on my face!”
2. What is your advice for girls participating in the Cookie Program?
“My advice to anyone selling Girl Scout Cookies would be to share your goals with your customers. Tell customers your cookie goal, your Operation Cookie Drop goal and what you plan to do with your cookie money. Telling them these things may encourage your customers to buy more cookies and to buy for years to come.”
3. Why should people buy Girl Scout Cookies?
“People should buy Girl Scout Cookies because them buying cookies gives girls amazing opportunities. Our troop has used our cookie money to backpack the Appalachian Trail, travel to London and Iceland and I am going to the Galápagos Islands!”
