The 2019-20 Girl Scout membership year is fast approaching, and we are so excited for everything in store! Whether it’s embarking on a hiking excursion while working towards one of our new High Adventure Badges or building a community garden as part of a service project, our Girl Scout troops are sure to accomplish BIG things this year as they unleash their inner G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader).

One of the best ways to kickoff a year of Girl Scouting is by participating in our Fall Product Program. The Fall Product Program gives girls the opportunity to sell magazine subscriptions and very popular nuts and candies in order to earn quick and easy start-up money for their troops… that way, the adventure planning and saving can start as soon as their first troop meeting!

Keep reading for 5 things to know about this year’s Fall Product Program!

1. Important Dates

The Fall Product Program officially begins October 1, 2019, but girls can begin building their own avatar and selling products as early as September 21 following the completion of sale training. Girl Scouts can sell nuts, candy, and magazines online or face-to-face. Face-to-face sales last until October 25, and online sales last until November 11. The nut and candy orders will be delivered to Area Coordinators November 14-16!

     2. Our Mascot

This year, our mascot is the northern white rhino! Did you know that there are only two northern white rhinos left in existence? This means that they are critically endangered. Learn more about rhinos so you can tell your customers all about them!

    3. M2 Media

To participate in the program, girls need to sign up and conduct sales through the M2 Media online portal! Girl Scouts create an avatar which will be her online salesperson in her virtual store. Create your avatar, set up your virtual store, send out email invitations, manage orders, and more in the portal. So fun!

   4. Rewards and Patches

In addition to earning proceeds for their troop, girls can earn cool rewards and patches! Rewards include items like stuffed rhinos, art supplies, decorations, t-shirts, and more. Girls can earn a patch with their very own Fall Product avatar by creating their avatar in the portal, sending 15 email invitations to purchase, and selling 4+ magazines and 20+ nut/candy items.

   5. Treats for Troops

Treats for Troops is back! This council-wide service project gives girls the opportunity to support our military troops by collecting donations that go towards purchasing and delivering nuts and candies to local military organizations. Girls with five or more Treats for Troops orders will earn a special patch!
