Light up your Halloween with Girl Scouts!

Ah…Halloween! A chance for girls to use their imaginations to be anything they want. From pilots to scientists to presidents – the possibilities on Halloween are endless. And what better way to celebrate a holiday that is filled with creativity, imagination, and fun than honoring a woman who made it possible for girls to explore their imaginations and realize they can be anything they want to be.

This October, Girl Scouts from across our council will not only celebrate Halloween, but they will also celebrate the birthday of the woman who started the Girl Scout Movement in 1912. October 31, 2017 marks Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low 157th birthday. She was determined to provide programming to girls that led them on new adventures and encouraged them to build new skills. Her vision has led to the largest girl-led organization in world that continues to inspire girls to believe in their abilities, develop leadership skills, and build their courage, confidence, and character to make the world a better place.

And that’s why this October, Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines is encouraging all members “Go Green” by carving Girl Scout inspired pumpkins this Halloween to celebrate Daisy’s birthday!

To help get you started, we’ve included three Girl Scout pumpkin-carving stencils, where you can buy green candles to make your pumpkin “glow green” this year, and some fun questions for your girls to answer as they work on creating their pumpkin masterpieces! Ready to get started? Let’s go!
