Happy Birthday to us – and all of of our Girl Scouts! March 12 marks the day that Juliette Gordon Low started the first Girl Scout troop in 1912, and we’re ready to celebrate with a week’s worth of activities! From March 12-18, we’ll be sharing ways that you and your girls can get in on all the Girl Scout Week fun!
For the fifth year, we’ll be celebrating Girl Scout Week with daily spirit activities designed to unite our sisterhood while demonstrating how our Movement is full of G.I.R.L.s – go-getters, innovators, risk-takers, and leaders. We invite both girls and adults to share with us how they take the lead like a Girl Scout while practicing everyday leadership.
So, what are you waiting for? Get ready for an incredible week alongside your Girl Scout sisters as we celebrate and recognize all our awesome, empowered, and experienced girl leaders.
Participate in the activities below as an individual or as a troop and don’t forget to share your photos, comments, and achievements with us on our council Facebook page. We’ll be giving away prizes and council gift cards all week long!
March 12 – Girl Scout Birthday
Throw a birthday party with your Girl Scouts! You can celebrate with cupcakes, a song, or a community service in honor of the original G.I.R.L. – Juliette Gordon Low!
March 13 – Motivational Monday
Our Girl Scouts have grit, determination, and ambition. They are true Go-Getters! Girls – channel your inner go-getter and tell us what you want to be when you grow up and how you plan to make it happen on our Facebook or Twitter!
March 14 – Take Action Tuesday
How do you make the world a better place, Girl Scout? For Take Action Tuesday, spread kindness and cheer by doing something nice for your community. You could gather donations for a local shelter or make goodie bags to give to the people you care about.
March 15 – Courageous Moments
A G.I.R.L. is courageous, strong, and willing to take risks! Try something new today, like playing a new sport, or getting involved in a club that interests you. Share with us on Facebook how Girl Scouting gave you the opportunity to go beyond your comfort zone and help you develop new skills!
March 16 – For The Troops Thursday
Showcase your leadership by recognizing it in others by making cards for our military troops thanking them for their service. These special letters are delivered with our council’s Operation Cookie Drop deliveries in the spring and mean so much to our service men and women who receive alongside a box of Girl Scout Cookies!

March 17 – Lead like a G.I.R.L.
At Girl Scouts, we’re all about girls who are go-getters, innovators, risk-takers, and leaders! Share a pic with us on social media that embodies your G.I.R.L. leadership experience!
March 18 – #SQUAD Saturday
Spend some time with your #SQUAD (aka your Girl Scout sisters!) Plan a fun trip to your local park, or enjoy the exhibits at your favorite museum. Snap a pic and share with us on Facebook to earn awesome prizes.
We can’t wait to kick off the celebrations with you next week! Got a great idea you want to share? Let us know how you plan to enjoy Girl Scout week.
