Summer may be over, but the fun is just getting started with Girl Scouts! We’re excited for all of the new adventures and endless possibilities this program year has to offer. If you’re a returning Girl Scout, welcome back and enjoy reuniting with your troop! If you’re new to Girl Scouts, get ready to follow the fun! Everyone is going to have the best year yet with our awesome lineup of events and activities.
Here’s what’s in store this year!
Fall Product Program and Girl Scout Cookies
Looking to boost your financial skills? You’re in luck! We just kicked-off our Fall Product Program, which runs through November 13, and our Cookie Program will begin in mid-January. These programs are both great opportunities for Girl Scouts to develop the five skills: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics. It’s also a chance for girls to strengthen their financial literacy skills by handling their sale proceeds and deciding how they will spend their earnings on their next troop adventure!
In addition to gaining new skills, girls will have the opportunity to earn their very own custom patch in celebration of our 100th anniversary of girls selling Girl Scout cookies in 2017! To be eligible, girls will need to participate in the 2016 Fall Product Program and 2017 Cookie Sale Program. Find more information on earning the custom avatar patch here.
Council-Sponsored Activities (Training, Events, and More)
Starting up a new year means new fun activities! Looking to find new interests, meet other Girl Scouts, or embark on a new journey? We’ve got something for every girl! From celebrating World Thinking Day to getting outdoors and brushing up on camping skills to participating in a “spooky” trail run this Halloween – there is a new adventure around every corner.

Council Patch Programs
At Girl Scouts, we focus our program on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience – a collection of activities and experiences girls will have as they discover their passions, connect with others, and take action to achieve their goals! A patch program is one way girls can explore a wide range of topics that interest them. Girl Scouts –North Carolina Coastal Pines offers several patch programs that are specific to our council. We have almost 20 different council patch programs that cover everything from amphibian reptiles to produce grown in North Carolina to the world of dance!
We’re so excited for another year of helping build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. With us, there are tons of opportunities for you to do big things and discover why it’s awesome to be a girl. Ready to get in on the fun?
