I think we can all agree – Girl Scout Week is the best week of the year! And there is no better way to celebrate than participating in our third-annual Girl Scout Spirit Week!
As a council, we have lined up some pretty exciting activities that celebrate our amazing sisterhood and organization. From throwing a birthday party (we’re 103!) to a Milk and Cookies Reception to a heartwarming letter writing campaign, there are so many ways to join in on all the fun.
Keep reading to learn more details about each day and follow our Facebook and Twitter pages to stay up-to-date on what’s happening around our council.
Monday, March 9 – Say the Girl Scout Promise
There is no better way to kick off our Girl Scout Spirit Week than by reciting the Girl Scout Promise (and Law!). It’s a great reminder of all that Girl Scouts stands for and how we are building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
Recite the promise and law during the opening or closing of a troop meeting or before heading off to school/work as a reminder of our core values, mission, and dedication to the service of others.
Tuesday, March 10 – Letters To Our Military Troops (Letter Writing Campaign)
Bring a smile to a soldier’s face this spring! Join our letter writing campaign to our military troops by submitting letters, stories, poems or pictures thanking them for all they do! All submitted letters will accompany our Operation Cookie Drop deliveries this spring. We can’t begin to tell you how much receiving these letters means to the men and women deployed far from home!
To participate, simply mail your letters to the address below or drop them off at any of our service center locations by April 15, 2015.

Thursday, March 12 – Happy Birthday, Girl Scouts!
We’re 103 this year and can’t wait to celebrate with you all! Whether you’re throwing a party, ordering cupcakes or completing a service project…we want to hear about it! Submit your best Girl Scout Birthday photos through our Story Submission form or post them to our Facebook page. We’ll be sharing all your amazing photos all day long!
Friday, March 13 – Share a Favorite Girl Scout Memory
Whether it’s roasting marshmallows over a campfire, a trip abroad with your troop or the friendships that have endured years…share your favorite Girl Scout memories with us! You can submit memories and photos via our Story Submission form or on our social media channels including Facebook and Twitter. We’ll be compiling these memories to share throughout the year and to help convey how much Girl Scouting means to us all.
Girl Scout Week Religious Recognitions (March 8 & March 14)
Additionally, during Girl Scout Week, our council will celebrate its rich history of partnership and collaboration with faith-based communities on Girl Scout Sunday (March 8) and Girl Scout Sabbath (March 14).
Faith-based awards include religious recognitions as well as the My Promise, My Faith pin. The My Promise, My Faith pin complements existing religious recognitions and allows all girls to further strengthen the connection between their faith and Girl Scouts. During Girl Scout Week, many girls will receive their pins on Girl Scout Sunday or Girl Scout Sabbath.
We hope you’ll join us in celebrating Girl Scout Week this year! Have another idea for a spirit week activity or perhaps a special way you and your girls are celebrating? Tell us in the comments below or share with us online!
