It’s “Back to Troop” time, and that means thousands of girls and their leaders across eastern and central North Carolina are in the process of planning a year of fun, adventure, and service. As a former membership director, I know how exciting this time of year is for our girls and our leaders. There is so much to prepare, so much to be excited about, and so much to hope for…
And this “Back to Troop” season, as the new Fund Development Coordinator, I’m encouraging you to add just one little thing to your list this year: Help provide the Girl Scout experience to other girls by making a gift to the Family Partnership Campaign.
What is the Family Partnership Campaign? Great question! The Family Partnership Campaign is a means for us to raise critical funds that stay within Girl Scouts – NC Coastal Pines and directly support girls and Girl Scout programming.
However, our Family Partnership Campaign is more than just a fundraiser. It is an opportunity for our Girl Scout family – and the family of our Girl Scouts – to say, “I support Girl Scouts. I believe in what we accomplish together and I appreciate the experiences that Girl Scouting has afforded my girl.”
Who are the chief investors in the Family Partnership Campaign? You are our closest stakeholder – our troop leaders, volunteers, and Girl Scout families.
Troop Leaders support the campaign because they’ve seen the power of Girl Scouting first hand as they watch their girls grow. They also know that supporting Family Partnership means making sure that the program is sustainable for more girls down the road.
Families give too because they have seen the positive benefits firsthand. They know their gift helps ensure that a strong Girl Scout program continues for their daughter, granddaughter, neighbor, or niece. They are grateful for a program that is helping their girls grow strong, capable, and confident.
What does my gift support? Gifts to the Family Partnership Campaign support a range of programs and opportunities: camp properties and programs, girl programs, volunteer support and trainings, and provide financial assistance to girl and adult members who would not otherwise benefit from Girl Scouting. Moreover, your gift supports the Girl Scout experience for the girl in your life. No matter what programs she has participated in, she has been touched by the Family Partnership Campaign.
How much should I give? Any size gift will make a difference and says you support the future of Girl Scouting. Just $15 covers the cost of membership for one of our Girl Scouts who receives financial aid from our Council. A larger gift of $250 can send a girl to a week-long summer camp that will change her life forever.
A gift to the Family Partnership Campaign is an expression of your commitment to investing in leaders now, and in the future. So, as you prepare your girl for this upcoming Girl Scout year, please consider becoming an investor today and providing those opportunities to another girl!
