On March 8, 2014, our council, Girl Scouts – NC Coastal Pines, welcomed the new 2014-2015 Girl Board members. During their term, the girls will attend regular board meetings, plan and implement a service project, participate in social media activation and marketing, and continually provide the girl perspective to the council and its affiliates.
We’re excited to introduce this amazing group of young women and we can’t wait to share all the great things they will accomplish this year!
My name is Dymon and I’m in my sixth year of Girl Scouting. I live in Goldsboro and currently serve as my troop’s president. One of my favorite Girl Scout memories is attending Girl Scout Science Camp at Meredith College last summer. I also enjoy participating in service projects and serving in a leadership roles. I’m excited to bring new and fresh ideas to the board and I am eager to learn and expand my knowledge around Girl Scouting.
My name is Brianna and I have been participating in Girl Scouts for six years – and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made! I have participated in the council’s planning team for the Centennial Jubilee and I currently serve as president of my county’s Older Girl Advisory Board. I am also a Girl Scout program aide and have planned two Spring Encampments for my area. I wanted to be on the Girl Scout Girl Board so that I can be at the forefront of decision making at the council. In my spare time I like to perform in school and local plays!
Hello! My name is Victoria and I am a life-long Girl Scout who is engaged in many facets of the organization. In addition to enjoying activities with my troop, I actively participate in many council-sponsored events and leadership opportunities. I’ve served on the council’s Strategic Learning Team, Teen Camporee staff, and planning team of the Centennial Jubilee. I’m also a graduate of the Discover the Leader in You! Leadership Camp. I served on the Girl Board for the 2013-2014 term and am returning for additional year. I will be taking on a new leadership role by serving as a Girl Board mentor and helping new members navigate their role and become engaged on the board.
Hey Girl Scouts! My name is Hillary! Just a quick introduction about myself…I love playing tennis, dancing, and cheering! Outside of school activities, I attend church regularly, I ride golf carts and Four Wheelers with my cousins, and I am a GIRL SCOUT! I have been a Girl Scout since I was in first grade and I look forward to having Girl Scouts in my life always. My favorite memory from Girl Scouts is a tie between 100th Anniversary Rock the Mall in Washington DC, and learning the “Little Red Wagon” song at Camp Hardee.
Hello all! I’m Katherine from Wake 19. I currently live in Morrisville and have been in Girl Scouts for 12 years. I love art, history, literature, and speaking Chinese. At home, I’m fairly reserved and introverted, but with Girl Scouts I’m outgoing and (slightly) crazy. My absolute favorite Girl Scout thing is leading day campers in songs, and hearing all the different versions at cross-county events! I’m excited to be working as a Girl Board member and to help make Girl Scouting in our area even better than it already is.
My name is Leah and I am from Durham. I am a member of a FIRST robotics team, and I play field hockey in the fall. My favorite part of Girl Scouting has always been sailing at summer camp. I am excited to serve on the Girl Board in order to use my experiences to help shape Girl Scout policies and to promote STEM activities for girls of all ages.
