Moving on up!

bridging patchWe’ve sold lots of cookies, worn Different Shoes for World Thinking Day, honored our leaders, and celebrated Earth Day. What’s next for a Girl Scout? End-of-year parties, summer vacation, camping, and … bridging! That’s right – it’s time for our girls to pass it on and look ahead!

What exactly is bridging? One of the established Girl Scout traditions, bridging marks the transition from one leadership level to the next. Girls earn bridging awards and advance to the next grade level by completing requirements in two areas: they pass on their experiences to younger Girl Scouts, and look ahead to the next level by connecting with older Girl Scouts. Bridging is also an opportunity to express a girl’s creativity by organizing and designing the bridging ceremony.

Psst – need some ideas for your ceremony? Click here.

With these exciting end-of-year events approaching, how does a troop leader fit it all into her busy schedule? One way to save time is by grabbing some of our ready-made Bridging Kits here at Girl Scouts NC Coastal Pines.

What’s included? Everything you need to bridge: the bridging award patch, ceremony certificate, membership star, membership disc, bridging fun patch, council pencil, bookmark, and a special coupon to use in any of our three Council stores.

As always, our Shop Associates are here to help with all of your bridging needs and End-of-Year celebrations. See you in the shop!
