Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines is thrilled to announce our partnership with Anonymous Trust to support Girl Scouts across Eastern North Carolina. Leadership development and exploration in the outdoors have long been integral components of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Exposure to nature and connecting with others outside is a great way to help girls improve their mental health, learn new skills, and build confidence. 

A portion of the Anonymous Trust grant funding will be used to provide camp scholarships to girls who need financial assistance in order to take part in the summer camp experience. To further enhance the camp experience for all Girl Scout campers, the Anonymous Trust grant will also fund an updated bathhouse at Camp Mary Atkinson, the Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines’ largest resident camp property, serving over 1,100 campers each summer and thousands more outdoor enthusiasts throughout the year. 

Grant funding from Anonymous Trust will also provide Girl Scout programming to community partners in Eastern North Carolina, including organizations like Simply Girls in Dunn, North Carolina. Through these collaborations with youth-serving organizations in the local community, Girl Scouts can extend its reach to additional girls who will benefit from leadership development programming in a safe, supportive space.

Without a scholarship and without the Girl Scout’s intentional outreach regarding the scholarships to community partners, a camp experience might never become a reality. Every girl no matter her zip code deserves the opportunity to enjoy a week at camp to learn new skills, build confidence, broaden her perspective, and make new friends. 

The support from Anonymous Trust will empower girls from across Eastern North Carolina to participate in leadership programming and life-changing camp experiences, and we are so grateful for this partnership.
