Cookie Selling Tips for 2019

The cookie countdown is almost over, Girl Scouts! The 2019 Girl Scout Cookie Program kicks off this Saturday and we could not be more excited. Cookie season is the perfect time to unleash your inner G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader) by setting goals and stepping outside your comfort zone to accomplish amazing things! The program helps girls to develop the 5 key skills: goal setting, decision making, business ethics, people skills, and money management… that’s why it’s the number one girl-led business in the world! It also helps girls to fund life-changing opportunities like trips to new places, service projects, and so much more.

How will you accomplish your goals and build your 5 key skills this cookie season, Girl Scouts? Check out what last year’s top sellers had to say about their experiences selling cookies for some inspiration to help you develop your own recipe for success!

Madeline F., New Hanover County

How did you reach your goal?

“I reached my goal by always trying to stay positive and focused. Even on the freezing cold weekends,  I always had a smile on my face.  Of course, I never would have made my goal of 4,000 without my wonderful and supportive neighbors! I do a ton of door to door selling in my neighborhood. Many of my customers have bought cookies from me since I was a Daisy. I really love to travel and that has really motivated me the last two years.”

What skills did you learn through the Cookie Program?

“From selling cookies I have learned better time management (juggling school, violin, running and Cookies), communication skills and my personal favorite, leadership skills!”

Alyssa J., Durham County

“I reached my goal through hard work and dedication.”

What skills did you learn through the Cookie Program?

“I learned communication, critical thinking, and money exchange.”
