Girl Scouts Fall Product Sale 2015

By Amy Vitale, Product Sale Manager

Are you ready to Do Gr8 things in Girl Scouts? Join this year’s Fall Sale programBranching Out – and see how much fun you will have trying new things! The 2015 sale brings a new vendor that offers new and exciting features to this year’s program like avatars.

What is an avatar you ask? During the sale, Girl Scouts will have fun creating their own avatar on the Me2 site, their “Me2” or “mini me.” This digital – and cute – image that girls create in their likeness, serves as their salesperson icon online. Avatars will help each girl sell magazines, nuts and candy via email, Facebook, and Twitter; earn virtual rewards in her own virtual room; and interact with her fellow troop members’ avatars in an awesome online troop photo. And as she racks up the sales, each Girl Scout can earn real rewards like her own unique avatar patch – and she’ll get to create her personal patch as well.  Pretty cool!!

Best of all, the Branching Out product sales program helps Girl Scouts learn about e-commerce which is a great skill for the future! Selling online with the new Me2 site is so easy. Girl Scouts, with the help of their parents/guardians, can send emails to family and friends around the country to earn the Branch Out patch quick and easy. Girls’ virtual stores can also be shared on Facebook and Twitter reaching special groups like her family, neighborhood or community, or teacher list.

Other councils working with the Me2 site have described their Fall Sale as “awesome,” “easier than ever,” and the “best thing we could do for our families and volunteers.” Me2 is easy to use, loads of fun, and more convenient for families, volunteers, and customers.   Here are just a few of those “awesome” features:

  • No shipping charges! One option available to customers is paying for their order online with a credit card and selecting to have the order hand-delivered by their favorite Girl Scout.
  • Less data entry for Troop Fall Sale Managers! Parents have access to enter information for their girls in the Me2 site.
  • One system for magazines and nuts/candy! No printing separate magazine reports.
  • Real time updates! See her reach her goal more easily as each girl’s progress and her sales level will be updated every day of the sale.

The Do Gr8 Things – Branching Out Fall Sale officially kicks off October 2.  Girls can begin building their own avatar and can begin selling before this date following the completion of sale training.  The face-to-face portion of the Fall Sale will end October 25 to allow all orders to be delivered to troops for distribution; however, girls and troops can continue their online sales from October 26 through November 15. This can be a great time to remind customers that the holidays are right around the corner and magazines, nuts and candy make great gifts!

Whether you are returning to or new to the Fall Product Sale program, join the fun this fall and be amazed how quickly and easily your troop can earn proceeds for the year.

Ask any girl what she loves about being a Girl Scout and selling cookies makes the list every time, hands down. Girls love counting the boxes, giving people their change, and seeing their customers’ excitement when they get their cookies. And if that’s not enough to get you motivated, here’s more on why you don’t want to miss out on Girl Scouts – NC Coastal Pines 2015 Girl Scout Cookie Sale!

It’s about way more than selling cookies.

Actually, each box of cookies is packed with a lifetime supply of learning. Selling cookies teaches girls goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics – aspects essential to leadership, to success, and to life. Our Girl Scout Cookie sale is a financial literacy program and is helping girls build confidence. When a Girl Scout sells cookies, she is learning she can be and do anything she sets her mind to!

Each box is packed with a different adventure.

Earning money to achieve goals is what cookie season is all about! Cookie sale proceeds help troops fund everything from patches, meeting supplies, local activities, service projects, and year-end activities. Girls love deciding with their troop how they’ll use their cookie money each season. Proceeds help their next adventure – their next dream – come true.

Girl Scout Cookies bring a sweet taste of home to our military.

This year we are celebrating 10 amazing years of Operation Cookie Drop, a council-wide community service project which has donated nearly 700,000 boxes of cookies to our deployed military service personnel. Having a donation jar for spare change at your booth is an easy way to support this program and girls can earn a special anniversary patch for participating. In celebration of our tenth anniversary, we hope to send 100,000 boxes to troops this year. Help make this mission possible!

Patches, troop trips, and polar bears… Oh My!

Girl Scouts can earn these rewards and recognitions and more in the 2015 Cookie Sale. Well, not a real polar bear of course, but a pretty cute stuff animal. Or perhaps they’ll get a chance to see a real polar bear in during a troop trip to the NC Zoo in Asheboro paid for by cookie proceeds! In addition, Girl Scouts who sell 500 boxes can choose from Superstar Destinations and earn admission tickets to amusement and water parks, gift cards to favorite restaurants, or “Cookie Dough” which can be used to pay for a week at summer camp.

They’re not only tasty. Selling Girl Scout Cookies is FUN!

From setting goals to decorating a wagon or a troop parent’s car for Walkabout Week, preparing and participating in the Cookie Sale is fun! Girls love decorating signs, making posters and other promotional items for the sale. This year’s Bling Your Booth contest has gone national and boasts a $500 cash prize. And taking some time to enjoy a cookie or two during the sale is always fun. Milk and Girl Scout cookies makes everyone smile.
